Award for ONGC at Houston

SIVASAGAR, October 9: Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Northeast India Section at ONGC, zira was one among the sections which were awarded the President’s Award for Section Excellence out of the 199 sections worldwide. The award was presented during the President’s Luncheon at the SPE ATCE held on September 30, 2015 at the George R Brown Convention Centre, Houston, Texas.

Budhin Deuri, ED-Asset Mager, ONGC, Assam Asset and Section Chairperson of the SPE, Northeast India Section received the award from 2015 SPE President Helge Hove Haldorsen. The section was also recognized for being the highest in the membership retention percentage in category one.

The President’s Award for Section Excellence recognizes SPE sections who display exemplary efforts in technology dissemition, section operations, member benefits, society and community benefits, and innovation.

The Northeast India section was established in the year 2007 and it has made great strides ever since its inception with growing memberships.

The growth in membership in this section reflects the positive and encouraging leadership of the Section Chair Person and aspirations of young engineers to learn and imbibe more knowledge from the veterans.

The section is organizing regular technical meetings including the Distinguished Lecture Programs which have been received very well for the technical knowledge enhancement of the members. These sessions are very interactive in ture and it evokes tremendous interest among the participants with their eagerness to learn more. More such programs are planned this year, stated a press communiqué.
