Awareness and immunization camp held

Silchar, Nov 14: An awareness cum immunization camp under the direction of Dr Y Kishore Singh, in-charge, SDMO, Lakhipur, was held at Kapakhal, a very remote village situated in the interiors of Manipur-Assam border area, under Lakhipur Primary Health Centre, recently. Almost all the residents of the village belong to Hmar community and are passing days in extreme poverty. The medical team took the painstaking job of organizing the camp and immunized around 20 children and 5 pregnt women.

 Dr L Sanga, in-charge, Jirighat Mini Hospital, spoke at length about the necessity of cultivating clean habits and about the importance of leading a good, safe, healthy and disciplined life. The team members comprises K Ramendra Singha, surveillance malaria inspector, ANMs Lalring Sangi, Mary Lalding Sang and Lakhipur Primary Health Centre staff Indrajit Goala. The residents of the village have expressed their gratefulness towards the team for organizing such a camp against all odds.
