Awareness and mock drill on disaster risk reduction in Mangaldai

MANGALDAI: The State Fire and Emergency Services, in association with the NDRF, SDRF and civil defense, recently organized a day-long awareness and mock drill on disaster risk reduction in Mangaldai Industrial Estate.

A 15-member team of First Battalion of NDRF led by its Inspector Jagadish Nath demonstrated mock drill on fire safety and evacuation, besides various sudden measures to be adopted to minimize the possible casualties during the time of disaster.

“This is our part of the district-wise community awareness programme where we have been supported by members of SDRF, fire service, and civil defense members,” said Nath while taking part in the demonstration.

More than 100 workers and members of security agencies of different industrial units functioning in the industrial campus, including SRD Nutrients, Trinity Fructa, and SRD Foods Pvt Ltd, participated in the event. Circle Officer of Mangaldai Revenue Circle, Dipshikha Saikia along with the officials of District Disaster Management Authority, Darrang took part in the day-long programme.
