Awareness camp on PMAY held

Donkamokam, Dec 22: Organized by Rongkhang Development Block, Donkamokam, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and at the same time an awareness camp on Prime Minister Awas Yoja (PMAY) and demonetization was held in a day-long programme at Tumpreng VDC office in West Karbi Anglong district on Thursday. Block Officers, including BDO Shashikanta Timung, UDA Dutta Choudhury, Agriculture Extension Officer Saiding Tisso, Samson Rongpi JE, Gram Sevaks Binitson Marak and Bhakta Barman attended as resource persons.  The beneficiaries were told about compulsory submission of the Job Card certificate immediately, also the xerox copies of joint account passbook, SGB certificate, land certificate and passport photos. Unlike the past, cashless system would be followed and cheques would be issued to the beneficiaries in three installments from the total amount of Rs 1.30 lakh, they said.  Chairman of Veteriry Board, Ditolal Hasnu urged the people not to get bribed by the officers or clients. Presided over by VDC chairman of No 6 Bithung Rengthama Constituency, Ramson Rongpi, the camp was attended by SHGs and NGO members, mostly women numbering over 360.
