GOLAGHAT, May 18: With a view to create awareness among the people and to stand against the citizenship amendment bill 2016, the Chatra Mukti Sangram Samiti (CMSS) of Golaghat district committee carried out awareness campaign in Golaghat by distributing leaflets on Wednesday. The activists tried to form public opinion by distributing leaflets against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016. Golaghat CMSS president Mrinal Nath and secretary Keshab Bora strongly slammed the Narendra Modi-led BJP government and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and warned them not to play with the blood of 855 martyrs. The CMSS will never allow the BJP government to settle illegal migrants in Assam by amending the citizenship act, they said. In the awareness campaign, CMSS central committee general secretary Bidyut Saikia, KMSS district president Dharmeswar Saikia, and other leaders were present.
