Awareness campaign evokes huge response

SILCHAR, April 2: The uniqueness of the method of spreading awareness regarding voting rights organized in Hailakandi district has earned widespread appreciation among the people. The campaign has been declared as one of the best in the valley and in the state by the Observer. On Thursday, in the office of the district administration of Hailakandi, Election Observer Rajesh Kumar along with the Deputy Commissioner, Moloy Bora, inspired the youths to make the present generation aware of their political and democratic rights.

 Rajesh Kumar pointed out that the present generation should be aware of the political scerio and always be eager to cast their vote. He added that the initiative taken by Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) cell is laudable and can help in spreading awareness among the general people regarding their right to vote. Organized bike rallies will help in spreading consciousness among all. The Deputy Commissioner inspired the young bikers to spread the message regarding the value of casting vote. All participants were given a T-shirt and asked to wear a helmet. He added that a helmet is necessary and they will have to wear it for their own safety.
