Awareness campaign for safe driving in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, June 30: Kokrajhar district administration has decided to organize a six-day awareness campaign on safe driving in the district from July 1. The campaign will start from Kokrajhar town. This was informed by the DIPRO, Kokrajhar Ansuma Mohilary.

Mohilary said the awareness campaign would be carried out in Kokrajhar town from July 1 to July 3 and From July 4 to July 5 in Gossaigaon while in Porbhatjhora subdivision on July 6. He said a meeting was also organized by the district administration at the DC’s conference hall on Monday where the rash driving in the town was widely discussed. The meeting was attended by the members of association of bus and taxi association, senior citizens and local intellectuals.

The Deputy Commissioner of Kokrajhar, MP Sharma said the district administration had taken up steps to organize an awareness campaign on safe driving in the district. He called upon the district police administration to check rash driving and to station traffic police personnel at vital points and to streamline the rules besides conducting checks against the rule breakers. He also asked the DTO to conduct emission test of vehicles to control the pollution. He called upon all to cooperate in the campaign.
