Awareness campaign held

DHUBRI, Sept 19: Under the auspices of the Field Publicity wing of the Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, a  day-long awareness programme on mother and child health care and ‘Mission Indradhanush’ was held at Salkocha on September 16. The programme began with a procession taken out by a large number of health workers of the locality.

The awareness meeting held on the occasion was chaired by Anuprova Barman, president, Salkocha GP and the objective was explained by Sarangapani Borah, FPO, Tezpur. Dr AT Abdullah and Dr M Billah took part in the meeting as resource persons and elaborately discussed various health related problems on mother and child health care and the ‘Mission Indradhanush’ and advised the mothers to go to the hospitals and take all possible help from the doctors. The meeting was addressed by Anupam Chakraborty, Headmaster, Silgarah HS School, Shyamal Barman, secretary, boday Club, Salkocha, Ambu th Sharma, senior jourlist and a few others. A lively quiz competition was also held and was conducted by Dr AT Abdullah. Prizes were also distributed among the winners of the quiz competition. The members of the Madhumati Silpi Samaj, North Raipur, Golakganj under the direction of Babul Karmakar,  staged a number of plays on tiol integration.
