Awareness campaign on cashless transaction

SHILLONG, Dec 9: The West Jaintia Hills District Administration in collaboration with State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC and ICICI Bank organized an awareness campaign for the traders, shopkeepers, hoteliers on 8th December, 2016 in the Conference Room of DC’s Office, Jowai. The Deputy Commissioner, Arunkumar Kembhavi, District E-Mager, P. Mawlong, State Bank Branch Mager and bankers from SBI, HDFC and ICICI were present to help the traders understand the need for installation of PoS (Point of Sale machines) in their shop and using Technological products for an easy transaction Deputy Commissioner, Arunkumar Kembhavi briefed the gathering on the purpose of organizing this campaign and urged the traders to opt for digital transaction to cope with the demonetisation problem, which everyone is facing at present.
