Awareness-cum-training programme for farmers

GAURISAGAR, March 10: Krishi Bigyan Kendra, Sivasagar under  AAU, Jorhat organized a day-long awareness-cum-training programme on ‘Protection of plan varieties and Farmers Right Act,2001’ in association with  Plan Protection and Farmers Right Act Authority, Guwahati at MC Club, zira recently. Dr. Monuranjan Neog, Associate Director (Training), Directorate of Extension Education, AAU, Jorhat formally iugurated it. Dr. Pur Kanta Baruah, Professor and Head, DEpartment of plant breeding and genetics, Dr Nogen Sarmah Baruah, Professor, Plant breeding and Genetics of AAU, Jorhat, Dr.Rupam Borgohain, Programme Coorditor, KVK, Jorhat and Dr Arun Changkakoti, SDAO, zira graced the programme as resource persons. Earlier Dr. Phuleswar th, Programme Coorditor, KVK, Sivasagar welcomed the guests and anchored the whole programme.  Around 150 farmers hailing from different parts of  Sivasagar district participated in  the programme and exchanged their views with the resources persons.
