Awareness drive on NRC

GOHPUR, June 26: The Biswanath district administration, in collaboration with Gohpur subdivisional administration, started an awareness drive regarding NRC recently. By pasting posters in walls, installing hoardings in public places like daily bazar and centres, announcing on mike along with distributing leaflets, the administration has taken initiative to create awareness among the public. Several awareness meetings have been organized in different places of the entire district. The administration has also been using two vehicles pasted with colourful and attractive advertisements of NRC.
Two important sessions were held by administration with gaon burhas and village defence parties of Gohpur and Halem revenue circle recently. Around 23 NRC centres are marked as sensitive while six NRC centres are considered as highly sensitive in Biswanath district. SDO civil of Gohpur and Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Indranoshee Das, Superintendent of Biswanath Police, Subdivisional police officer along with officer-in-charge of local police station took part in the session which was held with gaon burhas and village defence parties. On Monday afternoon, a press meet regarding NRC was organized in the DC office, Biswanath.
