Awareness meeting held on Joint Liability Group

GAURISAGAR, September 6: Krishak Nyas, a leading NGO of Sivasagar district recently organized an awareness meeting in association with tiol Agriculture Bank for Rural Development (BARD) on Joint Liability Group (JLG) at Charing Mohchal LP School.

In the meeting Bibek Sukla, Branch Mager, Asom Gramin Vikash Bank,Charing Branch took part as a resource person and highlighted about formation of JLGs and its merits for self employment generation. He also spoke about difference of SHG and JLG and various loan products run by the bank for farmers and entrepreneurs.

Addressing the gathering Lakheswar Mahanta, District Development Mager, BARD, Sivasagar  emphasized the role of JLGs  for economic development. He urged upon the farmers to form  JLGs  for  self-employment. Mahanta also highlighted about Pradhan Montrir Swasthya Bima Yoja (PMSBY), Pradhan Montrir Jibon Jyoti  Bima Yoja (PMJJBY),  Atal Pension Yoja (APY) and appealed to farmers to take advantage of these schemes. Earlier Himadrijyoti Dutta, chief secretary of Krishak Nyas explained the objective of the meeting. Vice-president Ajit Kumar th, fince secretary Puspadhar Neog  of Krishak Nyas were present. A good number of farmers took part in the programme and exchanged views with the resource persons.
