Awareness meeting on crime against women

Doomdooma, April 6: An awareness meeting against atrocities on women and children was organized in the premises of Dhupkathi factory at No.2 Saru Mechai village under Kakapather Police Station recently with president of Kakapather Tha Committee, bin Hazarika in the chair. The meeting, which was organized by Lakhima Mech, Circle Organizer, Village Defence Party (VDP), was attended by Mali Begum, secretary, women cell, Doomdooma Police Station, members of various VDPs, women and children of No.2 Saru Mechai village and second officer of Kakapather Police Station and office-bearers of Tong Tha Committee.

In her speech, retired teacher and secretary, women cell, Doomdooma Police Station, Mali Begum laid stress on women’s education in order to get rid of various kinds of oppression that women had to face today.
