DIBRUGARH, May 16: To sensitize the rural people about government implemented developmental and welfare projects, an awareness meeting was held at the conference room of Joypore development block under harkotiya legislative assembly constituency in Dibrugarh district on Saturday under the joint auspices of District Information and Public Relation office and Joypore Development block office .
The chairperson of Joypore anchalik panchayat, Rupali Hazarika in her iugural speech expressed satisfaction over organizing such meetings and hoped that this would help rural people to know more about government sponsored development and welfare schemes. She also hoped that the rural people would avail the opportunity.
Block development officer M Bora, Subdivisiol Health Officer Dr Rajesh Baruah, Joypore integrated child development officer Jarifa Begum, Block Primary Education Officer of Social Welfare Department, Sanjib Sarma and Inspector of Handloom and Textile department, Dipak Kumar Saikia spoke in detail about various schemes of their respective departments, besides the Chief Minister’s Assam Bikash Yojo and other special schemes.
Around 300 women of various panchayats of Joypore development block attended the meeting and took active part in the interactive session with the government officials.
Earlier, DIPRO Pranjit Kumar Saikia spoke on the objective of the meeting.
