Awareness meeting on GST held in Dhubri

DHUBRI, July 7: Awareness meeting with traders, suppliers, manufacturers and contractors was held on Goods and Service Tax (GST) in the DC conference hall with Dhubri Deputy Commissioner, Dhiraj Choudhury in the chair on Wednesday. Addressing the meeting, Choudhury called upon the business community not to panic on GST. “There are wrong conceptions prevailing in the mind of traders, suppliers, manufacturers and contractors about the GST, and in order to clear the doubts and confusion from their minds, awareness meetings are being held across the district,” Choudhury said.

Dhubri Assistant Commissioner of Sales Tax, Subrata Chakraborty, while explaining various points of GST, answered the queries of the traders. “A help-desk has been opened in the Sales Tax office to guide and advice the traders where they can go and seek suggestions as how to follow the GST to file the return. There is nothing to be worried as system of taxation has been simplified under GST,” Chakraborty added. Additiol Deputy Commissioner Imul Hussain and Dhubri District and Information Officer, Bikash Sarma also participated in the meeting.
