Awareness meeting on pisciculture held

BAIHATA CHARIALI, Sept 23: Under the aegis of ASHA Eco- Social development society, Baihata Chariali,  in collaboration with Kamrup district office of Fishery Department, an awareness meeting on pisciculture  was held at Agdala Chariali High School here recently. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chanda Mahanta Bania, member of Bezera ZPC,  where the importance of pisciculture in  rural areas in commercial aspect was discussed. 
Participating in the meeting fishery officer of Rangiya sub-division Abdul Hanif Ali,  said that by pisciculture one can earn more than  paddy cultivation in the same plot of land. Brajen Deka and Bhaskar Jyoti Talukdar, Extension officer (fishery), Jogen Kalita ,demonstrator of fishery Department of Bezera development block,  Barli Deka, Fishery Development officer and  Parag Deka demonstrator of Fishery Department  of Bihdia Jajiko  development block in their speech said that pisciculture may be  one of the most income generating sector in the state like Assam if government and department authorities take suitable step for it.
