Awareness on fake currency note organized

KOKRAJHAR, May 6: An awareness workshop on Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) was organized at 16th Bn.SSB Ranighuli on Thursday. During the one day workshop presentation on FICN was offered by Rakesh Chetia, Asstt. Mager, SBI, Kokrajhar Branch. In the beginning of the workshop AKC Singh, the CO of the 16th Bn.SSB emphasized on the importance of the imparting such workshop for SSB personnel who deployed for guarding thousands of kms intertiol border with Bhutan and Nepal. Further, Singh added that one of the foremost challenges for SSB is to stop the Smuggling of FICN around bordering areas and this is only possible if a SSB Jawan is able to differentiate between the fake and genuine currency.

During the workshop, Rakesh Chetia, Asst. Mager, SBI Kokrajhar, conveyed that the cases of FICN are on rise year by year, and emerging as biggest threat for Indian economy. During his presentation  at 16th Bn.SSB camp, he said about various specification of genuine currencies which makes it different from fake one and a person can easily identify between both, if he is aware if these specifications. At the end, AKC, Commandant of 16th Bn.SSB, said, “It is very important to motivate and aware bordering population about the fake Indian currencies as these people are soft target of the smugglers”.
