Awareness programme against drug abuse in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh, June 25: Arrangements are being made under the initiative of the district administration for observing the Intertiol Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, here on June 26. As such, with this objective of creating awareness among the common masses on drug abuse and illicit trafficking on June 26 at about 7am, a motorcycle rally will be taken out by the Excise department.  Similarly, the Excise department, with the cooperation of the students of various schools as well as various social organizations, will bring out a procession through the main thoroughfare of the town. Moreover, on June 27, June 29 and June 30, exhibitions, street plays and health camps will be held at six important places of the town. On July 2, a workshop will be organized  at the conference hall  of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The district administration, in a press communique,  has urged upon the presence of one and all, in the aforesaid programme,  aiming at promoting a sense of responsibility among the  people to keep away the youths from the harmful effects of drugs, and has called upon everyone to extend their cooperation.
