Awareness programme for Anganwadi workers held

ITANAGAR, July 7: A day-long awareness programme was held at Model Village, Block-I, for Anganwadi workers working under Naharlagun Urban ICDS project as well as Anganwadi children by the One Stop Centre (OSC), TRIHMS, Naharlagun, supported by Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India on Saturday here. OSC staff Pejum Sora interacting with the workers present provided information about the roles and functions of the OSC, legal aid clinic in reference to protection of women from Domestic violence Act 2005. She also spoke on 181 toll free service by the Women Help Line (WHL) team, besides various relevant information regarding nutrition and good health. MSW students of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) working as intern in various NGOs highlighted on moral science, parenting roles, good & bad touch and dos & don'ts to the Anganwadi children.

The motive of the programme was to spread awareness regarding the services provided by the OSC and how to avail service from the OSC.

The targeted group of the programme was Anganwadi workers, because they are the grassroots level workers and the best ones who can disseminate such messages to the masses.
