Awareness programme for political parties on election guidelines

KOKRAJHAR, February 9: The district administration of Chirang conducted an awareness programme on the instructions of the Election Commission for the political parties and candidates during election process here on Tuesday. This was informed by the DIPRO, Chirang G. rzary.

The programme, which was chaired by Rupak Kr. Mazumdar, Deputy Commissioner and DEO, Chirang, was held in the conference hall of the DC’s office at Kajalgaon for making aware the political parties and candidates on the subject relating to election expenditure and model code of conduct to be taken care off before the filling of nomition papers, from the date of nomition to the declaration of result and after the declaration of result. The DC interacted with the representatives of political parties on the present political scerio in the district and heard their grievances and feedbacks for taking necessary action.

In this regard, he asked the political parties to be feel free to call the district administration for any problems regarding security issues, election preparedness, and violation of MCC and he assured to extend all possible help to them for smooth, free and fair conduct of the election in the district.

Earlier, he informed the house about ongoing update of electoral rolls, SVEEP activities, arrival of new EVMs, setting up of complaint cell and the present status of all 245 PSs of the 31-Sidli (ST) LAC. Attending in the meeting, Taburam Pegu, Additiol SP, Chirang also informed about their adequate security position in the district and the plan prepared for election.

The meeting was also attended by Dasarath Das, ADC, Karmadev Brahma, CO, Dhrubajyati Das, AC and EO, Dipak Khanikar, AC, all heads of the departments, representatives of District Congress, BPF and AIUDF.
