Awareness programme on clean Guwahati launched

Guwahati, Sept 13: Max Cement, one of the leading cement brands in North-East India, held a series of programmes under the CSR initiative “Max Jagran” to display its love and affection for the city of Guwahati and its people, stated a press release. The two-day CSR programme which concluded today with a great fanfare includes cleanliness awareness road show, swachh Guwahati Abhiyan, blood dotion campaign, free health check-up camp, consumers meet, mason meet, engineers meet and builders meet.

To clean up its neighborhood and encourage a behavioral change amongst citizens towards hygiene and sanitation, company organized a road show in the morning in which hundreds participated with enthusiasm.

In the afternoon a cleanliness drive “Swachh Guwahati Abhiyan” was also carried out from Ulubari to Bigbazar, Bhangagarh in which company magement besides employees and the general public swept the road to create the awareness about cleanliness. Participants carried placards displaying messages to sensitize people about cleanliness.  

Speaking on the occasion, Vineet Agarwal, MD, GVIL said, “We care for the people and for the environment. We care for the people who spend their hard earned money on making their house. It is one asset that is cherished for life and by generations. And thus, they deserve to know how best to monitor the construction work for their house to have house maximum strength & stability. Continuing with the theme of “Max Care”, we are launching construction advisory services wherein people can buy advice related to construction. Needless to say, these come free for those using Max cement for their work.”

In blood dotion camp held at Max Cement premises under the supervision of GMCH doctors and technicians, company employees and several others doted blood while hundreds participated in free health check up camps conducted at Cambridge Public School and Binobha gar Prathamik Vidhyalaya.

In the evening a team of construction specialist from Max Cement met leading real estate developers of the region and discussed several relevant issues associated with building construction. Company magement also interacted with a large gathering of consumers and talked about several new initiatives taken by the company in consumers’ interests.

A host of activities to spread awareness of good construction practices were imparted and shared at masons meet and engineers meet held on Saturday.

Masons awareness programme incorporated various topics like correct construction practices, practical demonstration of comparison between ordiry & ad star packaging, customer services, practical demonstration of concrete strength etc. Other main features that highlighted in the programme were - differentiation between integrated cement plant & mini cement plant, consistency in quality of cement due to use of own clinker in production of cement etc.
