Awareness programme on Intellectual Property Rights

GUWAHATI, Nov 21: The Department of  Mechanical Engineering, Assam down town University (AdtU), Guwahati  organized a  two-day awareness programme on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) on November 17 and 18 which  was sponsored by Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India. The programme was organized under the Chairmanship of Director of  down town group of Institutions Dr B K Dey. Iugurating the function, Chancellor of Assam down town University Dr NN Dutta said, “There are good number of students, entrepreneurs and innovators in North-East India who are doing innovations. But due to lack of awareness and proper platform they are not able to mark their contributions. In this regard IPR can certainly help them to preserve their innovations. On this occasion  Pro-VC, Prof. H.K. Das said that  lower number of patents are registered from North-East region. So programmes like this will create awareness among the people of Assam in particular and others parts of North-East. This was stated in a press release.
