Awareness programme on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan held

Tezpur, May 14: In a move to invite people to participate in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a two-day social awareness programme on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Earth Day was organized recently under aegis of NCC cadets of eight institutes of 5 Assam Bn NCC along with the physical instructor, JCO and ANOs at Sonitur, Biswath Charilai, Udalguri, Darrang and North Lakhimur districts. It was an attempt through this programme to make people aware about the sense of responsibility and to recognize their role, thereby becoming active participants in cleanliness activities across the tion to fulfill the dream of a clean India.

The programme was organized by Tezpur 5 Assam Bn NCC in different educatiol institutions like Darrang College in Tezpur, LOKD College in Dhekiajuli, MD College, Mangaldoi College, Deomornoi College in Mangaldoi, Tangla College in Udalguri and BN College in Biswath Chariali where around 60 cadets participated.

While attending the programme at Darrang College, Anirudha Bhuyan, Major, Officer Commanding and Administrative Officer, said, "The main aim of this programme is to create awareness about reducing pollution and filthiness. A sense of responsibility must evoke among the people through the Clean India movement. People from different sections of the society should come forward and join this mass movement of cleanliness," he added.
