Awareness Programmes on Children and Women's Rights in Meghalaya

SHILLONG, June 16: With the aim of educating and enlightening young minds on the evils that plague the current society and to help develop coping and assertive skills among the youth, the State Commission For Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR), Meghalaya and the State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW), Meghalaya in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya will organize Awareness Programmes on Children and Women’s Rights from June 19 to July 31, 2015.
Aiming to create awareness on issues relating to sexual health, child trafficking, substance abuse, early marriages, violence against women/girl child, life skills etc. The Awareness Programmes will be conducted in 28 schools and colleges in East Khasi Hills District
The lectures and interactive sessions will be facilitated by the Chairperson of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Meghalaya, the Mission Director and personnel of the State Resource Centre for Women, Meghalaya. The programme will be launched on 19th June, 2015 at St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School at 9:00 AM.
