Axam Xahitya Xabha expects Rameswar Teli to raise Assam issues at the Centre

GUWAHATI: The Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) has greeted Rameswar Teli for being inducted into the Ministry of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a Minister of State.

In a statement issued to the media on Friday, AXX president Paramananda Rajbongshi expressed his hope that Teli will play a vital role at the Centre for the greater interests of the people of Assam.

Teli, who took oath as a Minister of State along with others in New Delhi on Thursday, was given Food Processing Industries. Talking to the media in New Delhi on Friday, Teli thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of Assam. “Since food processing is a new subject for me, I need support from the people of Assam. I’ll raise my voice at the Centre against problems afflicting Assam,” he said, and added that he would work for the development of the Northeast.

He further said that his department has many schemes through which the food processing potentials of Assam and other States in the Northeast can be exploited.
