Axam Xahitya Xabha’s South East Asia Branch Formed in Singapore

GOLAGHAT: With a view to expand the Assamese language and its culture worldwide, recently the Axam Xahitya Xabha’s (AXX) South East Asia Branch was formed in Singapore. In a press release signed by chief secretary of AXX, Padum Rajkhowa and secretary Dr. Sanjib Kumar Sarma, it was stated that to spread the roots of Assamese linguistics and culture among the Assamese people living in the South Asia countries, full-fledged committee of South East Asia Xahitya Xabha was formed at a meeting held in Singapore, with Abhimanyu Talukdar as president, Wajid Ahmed as secretary, Saptarsi Bhattacharya as treasurer, and Tanmayee Phukan and Arju Begum as publicity secretaries. In the meeting, AXX president Dr Paramananda Rajbongshi, Dr. Bolendra Kumar Das, Bipul Deori and convenor of AXX, Nurul Sultan were present.
