AXX appeals for cooperation

SIVASAGAR, Feb 6: The reception committee, Sivasagar session of Axam Xahitya Xabha appealed to all to extend their cooperation to make the centery celebration of the Xabha, which will be held from February 8 to February 12 at the historic Rupohi-Jerenga Pathar, Joysagar, a success.

Soram Baruah and Juga Gogoi, president and secretary of the committee, through a press release, appealed to the people of Sivasagar not to go by the adverse criticism spewed by  a section of media recently against the reception committee and to come forward to see for themselves the massive work undertaken by the committee in the run-up to the centery session of the Xabha despite being hit by an unprecedented crisis and fincial crunch. 

Meanwhile, with only a day left, preparations for the five-day literary and cultural mega event are being carried out on a war-footing with active support of the government departments, PSUs, NGOs and the public. Works on the approach road to the site, main pandal, exhibition, book fair, parking area, craft stalls, recreation centre and delegates camps spread over 2 sq km area are almost complete.

Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner rayan Konwar, along with other senior officials, has been in constant touch with the reception committee and is regularly monitoring the works.
