AYA organizes Youth Rising Day

Itagar, Dec 7: To promote sense of patriotism among the youths and to commemorate the death anniversary of Martyr Mihin Bagang, the Apatani Youth Association (AYA) and Mihin Clan of Tajang village on Tuesday organized Youth Rising Day at Government Secondary School, Tajang here.

Late Mihin had made supreme sacrifice while defending our motherland during Operation Cactus Lily at Chamb Sector, Jammu and Kashmir on December 6, 1971 for which he was also posthumously awarded the prestigious AYA Award 2016 during the Dree Festival 2016 by AYA. Speaking on the occasion, AYA president Taku Chatung called upon all youths to rededicate themselves to defend the country and inculcate sense of patriotism. Taking opportunity he also demanded the government to continue give service benefits to relatives of Martyr Mihin Bagang which has of recent been discontinued.

Moreover, he also thanked the state government for agreeing ming of government schools or street after Martyr Mihin Bagang. People from all walks of life joined and paid tribute to the martyr on the day, a press release stated here today.
