AYP decries attempt to 'polarize' B'deshi Hindus and Muslims

DIBRUGARH, April 28:  Asom Yuba Parishad (AYP) has cautioned the political parties who were bent to destroy the unique secular demography of the State in the me of language and religion.

AYP president Sunil Rajkonwar while talking to The Sentinel, expressed his dismay over BJP president Amit Shah’s public announcement that his government  if voted to power  would grant citizenship to all Hindu Bengalis who migrated to the State after 1971 March 25, and stated that Shah’s announcement  was against the spirit of Assam Accord.

Flaying both BJP and Congress, Rajkonwar said that both parties had single agenda to form a solid vote bank to garner power in 2016 assembly election. Claiming both the parties as ‘Bangladeshi protectors’, Rajkonwar asserted that the State should be freed of all Bangladeshis as well as other foreigners at any cost.

“Congress and BJP are trying to sail in the 2016 assembly election by polarizing the Bangladeshi Hindus and Muslims,” Rajkonwar said.

Urging Congress, BJP and AIUDF that they should restrain themselves from playing with the sentiments of people, Rajkonwar asserted that the AYP would oppose any move to divide foreigners in the me of religion and language.

He categorically stated that the foreigners who entered the State after 1971, March 25 should be deported to their respective countries, irrespective of their religion, colour and language.

Coming down heavily on the BJP, the AYP president said, the party was playing a very sty game by harnessing commul passion among the people but AYP would resist their fascist move at any cost.

“Much hyped promises of BJP during the last Lok Sabha election turned into a farce within 10 months of their reign,” he said. He further stated that with calculative political moves, false promises and gimmicks the party was trying to hand over the tural resources and rich virgin land of north-eastern States to tiol and intertiol corporate sectors for ubated plunder and exploitation.

He called upon all youths and students to ponder over BJP’s false promises and political maneuver and to resist tooth and il any move to disturb the peace and harmony of the State.
