AYUSH-backed health camp begins

Itagar, Nov 25: Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan on Friday iugurated the mega health awareness and medical camp. The camp was organised by Regiol Ayurvedic Research institute here at Government Middle School, Jollang to initiate Swasthya Rakshan Programme linked with Swachh Bharat Mission as per direction of the Ministry of AYUSH.
The programme aims at rendering clinical services (Swasthya Rakhshan OPD, Swasthya Parikshan camps and heal/hygiene awareness programme), free health check-up and counselling by Ayurveda specialists. Demonstration of home remedies, raw drugs for treatment of common ailment and display of medicil plants were the part of the camp.
Two more free camps will be conducted at Poma and Chiputa villages on December 14 and 16 respectively.
Officials said the camp was attended by a large number of students, teachers, doctors, lab technicians and homeopathy staff. The DC laid emphasis on ensuring cleanliness in the district. He told the students about the revamped door-to-door garbage cleaning programme of Itagar Municipal Corporation and asked them to segregate their garbage before collection.
He also said the district administration has taken an initiative to provide water supply and functiol toilets to all 80 schools of Capital Complex, besides ensuring adequate furniture in each school. He requested the headmasters to submit their furniture requirement to DC’s office timely for this purpose. He exhorted the students to dream big and work hard to achieve their goals and requested the denizens of Capital Complex to avail the free health camp next month.
