Ayushman Bharat Divas celebrated

HOWRAGHAT, May 1: Ayushman Bharat Divas was celebrated jointly by Lumbajong Development Block, Manja, District Health Society and National Health Mission, Karbi Anglong district on Monday at Lumbajong Development Block office. The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Swasthya Suraksha Mission was officially launched by Khonsing Rong, EM for Health and Family Welfare Department, KAAC. The programme was inaugurated by lighting of candles by the guests.

While launching the scheme, Khonsing Rongpi, EM, i/c Health and Family Welfare Department, KAAC said that the Ayushman Bharat was a National Health Protection Mission which had the benefit cover of Rs. 5 lakh per family per year and the target of beneficiaries of the proposed scheme would be more than 10 crore families.

People of Karbi Anglong, basically BPL families, will also be benefited in a large-scale under the scheme, Rongpi said. Ayushman Bharat National Health Protection Mission will also include the centrally sponsored schemes, Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) and the Senior Citizen Health Insurance Scheme (SCHIS). The scheme will take cover of almost all secondary care and most tertiary care procedures. Women, children and elderly people will be benefited from the scheme. There will be no cap on family size and age in the scheme.

According to official report, the beneficiaries can avail benefits in both public and empanelled private facilities. The payment for treatment will be done on the basis of a package rate which will be defined by the government in advance. The package rate will include all the costs associated with the treatment. For beneficiaries, it will be a cashless and a paperless transaction.
