Itagar, Feb 15: The NDA government at the Centre is taking up the Ayushman Bharat Yoja in a mission mode to provide quality and affordable healthcare to approximately 50 crore people of the country, Prime Minister rendra Modi said here on Thursday.

Addressing a public rally at Indira Gandhi Park here after laying the foundation stone of Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Science (TRIHMS), the Prime Minister said Ayushman Bharat Yoja is a path breaking initiative to provide quality and affordable healthcare. “The scale of this scheme is unparalleled and it will bring a paradigm shift in our health sector. It is the time to give India a healthcare system that makes quality treatment affordable within a limit of 5 lakh per person,” he said.

Modi asked the State Government to frame new health policy and to work for attracting private investment in the health sector.

Modi said that the government in the 2018-19 budget had proposed to set up wellness centers in 22,000 panchayat blocks throughout the country with all minimum medical facilities.

Modi said that Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jaushadhi Pariyoja (PMBJP) was launched to provide 800 quality medicines at affordable prices to the masses. PMBJP stores have been set up to provide generic drugs, which are available at lesser prices but are equivalent in quality.

Stating that the government plans to take medical facilities to far-flung areas, the Prime Minister said that the government had proposed establishment of one medical college or hospital within three parliamentary constituencies in the country and focus would be given to the local doctors so that they could understand the local problems more effectively.

Clad in traditiol tribal attire, Modi also announced reming of the New Delhi-harlagun Express to ‘Aruchal Express’ besides increasing its frequency from one day a week to twice.

“The new train will connect the people of the State with mainland India,” he added.

The train service was iugurated by the Prime Minister during his visit to the State on February 20, 2015 to attend the Statehood Day celebration.

Lauding Chief Minister Pema Khandu for his support to the fight against corruption, Modi complimented Khandu for the wonderful work he was doing.

“Khandu has prepared a top quality roadmap on how Aruchal Pradesh should be in 2027. And he did not only ask officials for inputs but also asked people from all walks of life,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister also dedicated the State civil secretariat to the people of the State.

Unveiling the plaque of the Dorjee Khandu State Convention Centre before leaving for Tripura to address election rallies, Modi said that he would persolly tell people to go to Aruchal Pradesh and hold important meetings at the convention centre.

The Prime Minister said that unlike previous regime, his government had sanctioned road projects worth 18000 crore for Aruchal Pradesh besides others.
