B.Ed teachers training institute to be set up in Majuli: Sonowal

Majuli, May 10: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal advocated for synergistic approach among the Government, Education Department, Teachers and Guardians to bring about qualitative development of education in Assam.

Speaking at an Orientation Workshop for teachers of primary and secondary school at Kamalabari in Majuli on Wednesday chief minister Sonowal said that with a symbiotic efforts of the teachers, guardians, government and education department, an ideal environment should be created where students get right atmosphere for their all round development. Stating that knowledge is power which can be attained through education, Sonowal also urged upon the teaching fraternity to take the responsibility to impart quality and value-based education to help the students to reach the zenith of success.

Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal asked the teachers present at the workshop to  shoulder the responsibility of transforming Majuli into an enlightened and educated district in the state and place the district as an important centre of education besides its usual reputation of a tourist destition for being a seat of vaishvite culture and its pristine landscape. Emphasizing that teachers play a vital role in tion building, Sonowal called upon the teachers of Majuli in particular and state in general to concentrate more on helping students to become conscientious citizens of the country.

Referring to his childhood education, Sonowal said that whatever he learnt during his childhood formed his value system. He, therefore, urged upon the teachers to help the students to inculcate moral values in them so that later on they can help the state and the tion to grow faster.

Chief Minister Sonowal also announced that a B. Ed Teachers’ Training Institute will be set up in Majuli for the teachers to help in auguring an ambience of education driven development in the district.

Organised by Sarba Shiksha Abhiyan and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan the workshop was attended by the Mission Director SSA Aru Rajoria, Commissioner, Secondary Education RC Jain, Commissioner Elementary Education Preetom Saikia, the Xatradhikar of Uttar Kamalabari Xatra Jardan Deva Goswami and a host of other dignitaries. This was stated in a press release.
