KOKRAJHAR, Nov 21: Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, who is in Kokrajhar since Monday evening for the three-day free yoga treatment and meditation camp organized by the BTC at Green Field, Bodofa Nwgwr, Kokrajhar which got underway from Tuesday morning, laid stress on equality and justice to all people for a vibrant India and said that justice should be delivered to all backward regions like BTC.

Baba Ramdev on Tuesday attended the yoga and meditation camp at Green Field and started the yoga and meditation after lighting the lamp. Hundreds of people attended the camp. Deputy chief of BTC, Kampa Borgoyary, EMs- Doneswar Goyary, Rajib Brahma, Mritunjay rzary, Lwmsrao Daimary, former EMs- Mono Kr. Brahma, Sabharam Basumatary and other dignitaries also joined the camp.

Talking to media persons, Baba Ramdev said the mission of Patanjali Yogpeeth was to ensure equality and justice to all for development of the region as well the country as a whole. He said BTC region was lagging behind and people here had feelings of ‘inequality’ and ‘injustice’ and felt that they were denied of their rights and privileges towards them and as a result they even launched a movement for their legitimate rights. He also said for a vibrant India, everybody should get equal rights and justice for development.

The yoga guru said the Patanjali Yogpeeth had a mission to develop BTC areas in three sectors. “First it has decided to establish educatiol institutions to improve the educatiol scerio in the council region. For this, the primary schools at Rowmari in Chirang district and Kumarikhata in Baksa district have already been established and classes would be started soon,” he said, adding that the Yogpeeth would establish colleges and university in BTC in the days to come and would provide quality education. He also said soon highly standard boarding schools would also be set up in different places of the region to provide qualitative education which would also create more job opportunities.

Secondly, the Yogpeeth would give priority to agricultural and would encourage complete organic products. He said BTC region had full resources of herbal plants and there were lots of potentialities for cropping. The council lacks food processing plants and therefore, the farmers are not getting encouraged in their agricultural products. Besides, the eri silk and endi products were suitable for all weather but there was lack of market, he said, adding that he would take it to the world market and if required he would make special brand of these products and weavers would get a big boost.

Third, the Patanjali will enlarge the goushala in remote areas and such farms had already been set up at Rowmari in Chirang district. He said cattle farming could help a family for sustaining their source of income as its cow dung and urine were very important for organic farming. Since the local cow gave little milk, he assured that he would supply cows which would give between 10-20 litres of milk a day.

Ramdev said that his Yogpeeth would take forward the research work for herbal plants and other sectors to ensure jobs for local people. He, however, sought cooperation from the BTC administration. He also said that the big investors had fear in their minds to set up industry in the region but after Patanjali’s entry, different investors could be interested to invest. He further assured that their products would be pure, tural and totally organic.

BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary said the vision of Baba Ramdev to invest in education, agriculture and cattle farming was praiseworthy. He said the council administration would try to help to translate their mission into reality. He said BTC region had potential enough in sericulture sector as there are large productions of Eri and Endi but it needed market. Since the Patanjali Yogpeeth has assured to linking the market, there will be more opportunity to boost the local products.

Borgoyary said the council region has lots of medicil and herbal plants by which various diseases were healed. The people of the region had no knowledge to tab the opportunity. These medicil plants were used to cure diseases in a traditiol way. He hoped that the Patanjali Yogpeeth would carry out their research work and upgrade the old-healing method.

President of the reception committee Rabiram rzary, who is also MLA of 29-Kokrajhar West, said the free yoga treatment and meditation camp was a great opportunity for the people of the region as it had brought a sense of awareness among the masses to keep a healthy life through yoga. In the evening, Ramdev attended a cultural event held at Bodofa Cultural Complex and enjoyed the traditiol dance of Bodo, Rabha, Garo, Adivasi, Rajbongshi and Asomiya.
