Baby dies in Joysagar

JOYSAGAR, July 8: A 1.6 month-old baby of Rangghar Chariali under Joysagar Police Station died on Friday after allegedly being administered polio drops. The incident created sensation in the Hatikukh Health Sub-Centre of Joysagar. The parents of the baby, Sanjay and Renu Agarwala, had reportedly taken the baby to the sub-centre to get polio drops administered. But after allegedly consuming the polio drops, the baby’s health condition became critical and they rushed to Joysagar Civil Hospital. But before they could reach there, the baby allegedly died. The Joint Director, Sivasagar District Health Services Department, has ordered a probe into the incident and also suspended one ANM accused in the case, sources informed.
