Bagan, Yangon to arrive tomorrow

GUWAHATI, March 13: Mohun Bagan, boosted with two wins from two consecutive matches,  will take on Yangon United FC of Myanmar in their third game of the AFC Cup at Indira Gandhi Athletic stadium here on Wednesday. It will be the second home game for Kolkata giant in the competition.

Bagan, who are leading the points table with six points from two games, displayed excellent performance in the competition and won both the games by big margin. In the first match in Guwahati, which was their first home game, Bagan thrashed Maziya Sports and Recreation Club of the Maldives by 5-2. Later they registered another convincing victory in their first away game against Hong Kong’s South Chi by 4-0 at Hong Kong and the victory took them top of the points table.

Both the sides will arrive in the city on Tuesday to play the match . Like Bagan, Yangon United FC also played two games in the competition. The side won their first match against South Chi by 2-1 margin while drew their second game 1-1 versus Maziya Sports and Recreation Club.

Meanwhile although crowed response was very poor during Bagan’s first home game at the Indira Gandhi Athletic stadium but the officials of the club are  optimistic that this time it will not same again as people of Guwahati are keen followers of soccer and they will come in big numbers to support the home team. Imran Khan, media manger of Mohun Bagan, today said that the sale of ticket for the forthcoming match already started from different counters spread across the city. There will be two types of tickets for the match-Rs 150 and 300.
