KOKRAJHAR, October 20: A person injured in the indiscrimite fire of militants at Balajan Tiniali market near Kokrajhar on August 5 that claimed at least 15 lives and injured 18 persons, has sought more fincial help from the Government of Assam for complete treatment.

Kumuruddin Ali of Bardapar, Salakati is currently undergoing treatment at GMCH. He urged Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal and State Fince and Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to provide more fincial assistance for complete treatment. Many injured people have been taking treatment in different hospitals and some of them are improving. Kumuruddin Ali (26) of village Bardapar, Salakati has been struggling to survive after receiving bullet injuries. He said that he had to look after his wife, a two-year old baby and his mother by selling vegetables at Balajan Tiniali market. On that fateful day he was in the market to sell vegetables when suddenly a bullet hit him near the stomach and operation was done but after the operation, he is not out of danger as he was fitted with artificial pipe to pass the stool and his health is deteriorating day-by-day. He appealed to the Government of Assam to extend more fincial assistance for complete treatment saying that the amount he received immediately after the incident was not at all sufficient.

Lafiqul Islam Ahmed, president of the ABMSU, said that Kumuruddin Ali was the sole bread earner of his family and unless he received proper treatment, his health condition would deteriorate further. Ahmed also appealed to the Chief Minister and the State Health Minister to extend more fincial help to this poor man.
