Tezpur, March 18: A veteran rally and a defence pension adalats, aiming at rejuveting the ties between the serving and the retired, were organized on behalf of the Indian Army by ‘Ball of Fire’ division at Bomdila in Aruchal Pradesh on Sunday.
Major General RK Jha, who was present as the chief guest, said the welfare of Gaurav Senies is the priority of the Indian Army, besides ensuring that the veterans are well looked after.
A highlight of the rally was the felicitation of Veer ris and next of kins of the martyrs.
Several stalls were set up during the rally to assist them in creating awareness on the existing Central and State government schemes. The stalls include medical camp, pension resolution, horticulture, DRDO, FPO, career guidance, URC facilities and banking facilities.
Veterans were also apprised of resettlement, second employment avenues and assistance for re-employment facilitated by Army Welfare Placement Organization (AWPO).
The rally witnessed huge response from the veteran community of District West Kameng, East Kameng and Tawang of Aruchal Pradesh.
The event was also attended by SSP, West Kameng, Bomdila and Army officials, among others, Defence PRO of Tezpur Harsh Wardhan Pande said.
