MARGHERITA, Aug 13: Subhas Sen, secretary of CPI (ML) Tinsukia District Committee, has condemned and criticized the incident where two persons were killed and eight persons were severely injured by suspected ULFA (I) cadres who opened fired in 11 no. Bamungaon Tiniali under Doomdooma Police Station.

“The present BJP government of Assam before the assembly election had given many speeches and talked about Unified Command Structure but today nothing has happened and innocent people are killed. So without political solution, arms cannot solve the problem and Kashmir is a burning example,” said Subhas Sen.

He said that suspected ULFA (I) showed their cowardice and inhuman behaviour towards the people of Assam. “I demand that the families of the two people who were killed should be given Rs 10 lakh compensation and the injured should be given Rs 5 lakh compensation by the administration,” Sen added.

All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union Tinsukia District Committee general secretary Chandan Tamang has also condemned the incident and demanded judicial enquiry into the killings by suspected ULFA (I) cadres.
