Ban on inferior quality gur in Hailakandi

Hailakandi, October 25: The Hailakandi district administration has put a ban on sale of inferior quality gur (Lali Gur) used for making illicit liquor with immediate effect. Section 144 CrPC has been imposed on transportation of low quality gur, not fit for human consumption, in the entire district, stated a press release. Moreover, the administration has also asked the stockists and retailers of gur to provide details of the stock quantity at their disposal, sources of procurement and to whom they have sold, to the Superintendent of Excise before the 5th of every month, failing which stern action will be initiated against them.
