Ban on transportation of coal

SHILLONG, April 22: The District Magistrate, East Jaintia Hills district has informed all coal mine owners, truck owners that transportation or carrying of coal from the coal mines or jungle to the coal depot will not be allowed and is strictly prohibited. In a press release, the district administration said that stern action will be taken against the violators and their mes will be furnished to the NGT.
