Bandh hits Duliajan

DULIAJAN, MAY 15: The statewide bandh called by All Adivashi Students’ Association of Assam (AASAA) affected normal life in Duliajan and its neighbouring areas. The AASAA’s Duliajan regiol unit president Abhimuinnya Baruah, working president Manuj Baruah and secretary John Munda said in a statement that the 12-hour bandh was total. “Tea workers boycotted work at the gardens in Duliajan and its adjoining areas to press for a hike in the daily wages,” they said. However, schools, colleges, government offices and offices of OIL were remained open during the bandh hours. However, business establishments remained closed while long distance buses were off the roads.
