Bandh hits normal life in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR, June 28: Normal life was affected in Sivasagar on Tuesday following a 12-hour bandh called by the Tai Ahom Yuva Parishad, Assam (TAYPA) to protest against the Central Government’s decision to auction at least 12 oil and gas fields in the State to private investors. Commercial places, fincial institutions, educatiol institutions and several private offices remained closed. All long distance vehicles, including private buses and State-owned ASTC, were off the roads. However, no untoward incident was reported till filing of this report.
