Bandh hits normal life in Tinsukia

Tinsukia, Sept 16: The 12-hour Tinsukia district bandh called by the Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad’s Tinsukia District Committee on Wednesday in protest against BJP led Central  Government’s notifications to regularize the entry and stay of Bangladeshi and Pakistani minority refugees, crippled normal life in the district.   

 Business establishments remained closed during the bandh. Commercial vehicles on the highways  were off  during the bandh period. The bandh, however, did not affect government offices and educatiol institutes. The activists of Tai Ahom Yuva Parishad burnt tyres on  the road to make the bandh successful.
