Bank customers gherao SBI customer service point

GOLAGHAT (Dhekial), May 4: The bank account holders of SBI who opened bank accounts in the SBI Customer Service Point (CSP) at Wokha Goranga gheraoed the CSP office on Thursday alleging illegal withdrawal of customer money by its CSP agent.

 The customers alleged that one CSP agent Nekibur Rahman allegedly withdrew customers’ money when they deposited the money at CSP.  Most of the account holders of this CSP are illiterate people and tea garden labourers. The CSP agent took advantage of the ignorance of the customers. The agent gave the deposited money’s receipt also, but he did not deposit the money in the customers’ account. On Thursday, the whole incident came to light when a customer updated his passbook and found that maximum money had been deposited when he deposited the money at the CSP. After getting this information, the customers gheraoed the CSP and demanded that their money should be returned. In this regard the CSP agent sought apology from the customers and gave assurance to return the money.
