GUWAHATI, Jan 7: Assam Provincial Bank Employees’ Association (APBEA) members are going on a strike throughout the country on January 8 alleging violation of service conditions of bank employees.

APBEA general secretary Dilip Kumar Sarma said in a statement today, that they have been opposing the attempts to violate the service conditions of employees, but the magement unilaterally got approved the schemes to increase working hours, expand mobility, burden of additiol duties etc. “Indian Banking Association, with whom the unions of banking industry signed settlement on our service condition remains a silent spectator. Astonishingly the Fince Minister of India is also failing measurably to bring the magements of Associate Banks into senses. This is a dangerous trend,” said Sarma. This was stated in a press release.
