Bank fails to provide Rs 100, Rs 500 notes to customers

From a Correspondent
MARGHERITA, Feb 9: Bulbul Saikia, general secretary of Margherita Regiol Students’ Union, has slammed the State Bank of India, Margherita Branch and Segunbari Branch for not being able to provide Rs 100 and Rs 500 currency notes to the customers. Customers are getting only Rs 2,000 notes and this is creating problems for them as they find it difficult to get change for the Rs 2,000 notes. Bulbul Saikia said that three months had passed since demonetization and while tiolized banks were giving Rs 100 and Rs 500 notes to the customers, State Bank of India Margherita Branch and Segunbari Branch were only giving Rs 2,000 currency notes. He said that Margherita Regiol Students’ Union would be compelled to launch an agitation unless the bank made Rs 100 and new Rs 500 notes to the customers.
