Bank sanction letters distributed in Dima Hasao

Haflong: The distribution ceremony of bank sanction letters of Assam Chah Bagan Dhan Puraskar 2018-19 at Kopili Tea Estate near Umrangso in Dima Hasao was held on Thursday. Ranu Langthasa, Chairperson, NCHAC attended the programme as the chief guest. The daylong programme was organized by Dima Hasao District Administration.

After the felicitation, a welcome address was delivered by Bikram Dev Sharma, ADC. The chief guest of the programme was welcomed by traditional adivasi dance with beating drums. During the programme, 242 bank sanction letters were distributed to the beneficiaries and among which 217 beneficiaries will receive Rs. 2500 each and 25 beneficiaries will receive Rs 5000 each including the 1st instalment to Tea garden labourers.

Ranu Langthasa, chairperson in her speech spoke at length about developing the poorer sections of the country by providing various schemes specially the tea garden labourers who were deprived from any development scheme.

Stressing upon the tea garden labourers to keep close co-operation with banks to avail the benefits of the schemes framed by Central and State government time to time. Other speakers encouraged the tea garden workers to maintain their bank accounts by updating KYC etc and make saving habits with banks.
