Joysagar, March 13: The North East Rolling Mill, Sivasagar situated in Sunpura under Cherakapara PS of Sivasagar, was sealed by the authorities of the Allahabad Bank, Sivasagar in presence of the District Executive Magistrate on Monday.

As per information, the NE Rolling Mill has not paid their loan installments to the bank since 2014. The mill was established in 2006 by Samir Gogoi, a prominent businessman of Sivasagar and the son of former Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly and present Sivasagar MLA, Prab Gogoi. Sources revealed that in 2006, Samir Gogoi had taken a business loan from the Allahabad Bank, Sivasagar, amounting to about Rs 6 crore. Samir introduced his wife Moytrayee Gogoi as the director of the mill. But after getting the loan, neither Samir Gogoi nor Moytrayee Gogoi paid any installment to the bank as per rule. Meanwhile, they suddenly handed over the ownership of the mill to one Rajiv Jain in 2014. But Jain also did not pay any installment to the bank.

Hence, as per rules, the bank filly decided to seal the mill and on Monday, the bank authorities with the help of the Sivasagar District Legal Services Cell and in presence of the District Executive Magistrate, sealed the NE Rolling Mill of Sivasagar.
