Barak boy gets Yuva Pushkar award

Silchar, Dec 27: Kh Krish Mohan Singha has been awarded Yuva Puraskar Award 2017 by Sahitya Akademi recently. Sahitya Akademi awards this Yuva Puraskar in 24 languages. Kh Krish Mohan Singha got the rare honour for his poem ‘Kellaba Ungai Usai’ in Manipuri. The people of Manipuri community in general have expressed their happiness on this honour of Kh Krish Mohan Singha who has made a place of distinction for himself by being the first person from the community to bag the honour. He has other laurels too by winning different awards like Arambam Ibanghal, Binod Kumari literary award, Kamini Kumar gold medal, Leima Puraskar and Chinkho Meirang Leima Neushing Kabirdas Ma. He is from the Lakhipur subdivision of Cachar. He studies in the fifth semester of BA class in Gurucharan College of this town. Many of his poems have been published in Manipuri jourl. He received the award from Vishwath Prashad Tiwari, president, Sahitya Akademi, at a presentation ceremony held at Randhawa Auditorium, Punjab Art Council, Chandigarh.
